job summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic system administrator in a fast-paced, complex business environment. They will be responsible for supporting product owners in a processing center. The administrator will be responsible for a variety of support systems with virtual or physical machines and software, supporting change requests and projects, and finding areas primed for an automation opportunity

responsibilities:

• Set up and manage batch jobs using AutoSys, particularly those invoking shell scripts on Linux servers.
• Develop and maintain advanced shell scripts including conditional logic and integration with system software, functions, and processes.
• Install, configure, and maintain vendor software on both Linux and Windows servers.
• Support change management processes, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum system integrity.
• Work closely with product owners and project teams to support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
• Identify and propose automation opportunities to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
• Monitor system performance and reliability, proactively addressing issues and tuning systems for optimal performance.

qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in system administration or infrastructure support roles.
• Proven experience in system administration in a mixed Linux/Windows environment
• Hands-on knowledge of AutoSys, especially scheduling and monitoring batch jobs.
• Proficiency in shell scripting.
• Experience installing and configuring third-party vendor software on both Linux and Windows platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
