The Data Ingestion Team has a requirement to implement Data Contracts for all \monitoring data being captured by. This requires the team to identify the data owners for over 400 existing data ingestions, negotiate data parameters such as retention and type, and implementation of the new contract parameters.

Day to day responsibilities:
This team manages the information. taken in about 1200 different logs from thousands of systems; laptops, pcs, etc.
The event logs, which show what traffic can go through and what gets denied all get fed into SPUNK.
The goal is to understand the data in the system and govern into it because about 9-10 yrs ago, the data started coming into SPLUNK and there was NO Catalog in place. They don't know where the date was coming from, who owns it, etc.
- The hired resource will be calling and speaking with other people within Progressive to find out who owns the data and there are questions that need to be asked (thee who, what, when, why is the data in SPLUNK
- They will fill out a template that has been created for the Data Analysts to complete based on the information that they gathered.

qualifications:
Education:
* Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics or Statistics.
* Five years business experience with two years prior analysis experience.
* Master's degree in lieu of experience.
Industry related:
- No. Resource does not need to have industry experience but definitely experience with a large corporation as there are over 60K employees
skills: - Understanding of any markup XML, HTML, JASON, Fundamental concepts
- GIT (Requirement - source control) knowledge and experience
- NOTE: If a candidate has used GIT, then they may have other skills that would be complimentary to the role.
- Ability to Take Initiative
- Being comfortable with working independently with some collaboration
- Excellent Listening & Writing Skills
- Enjoy Investigative and problem solving skills
- Critical thinking skills _ look at the Splunk data, ask questions about desired use cases and outcomes and validate whether the data will mee the stated requirements. Ask questions
-Writing Skills- For authoring meaningful clear and concise descriptions of datasets and the validate of those elements
Nice to have skills- not required:
-YAML (this can be taught in <2 hrs)
-SLUNK- fundamentals- query data (deep understanding is not necessary) Really, the ability to look at the even stream in a dataset to validate the customer's desired SLO (service level objective for their data)
-Data governance is a plus!
-Having worked in a large organization
