Published Job SummaryFull time-Direct hire- Client near Myrtle Beach, SC is seeking an experienced Process Metallurgist with steel melting background. Candidate must have at least 5 years of manufactuirng experience, bachelors degree related to metallurgy and willing to work inside a Manufacturing setting. Full benefits, bonus, base salary and 401 K.
Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of self and others by diligently adhering to safe work practices and procedures.
· Primary responsibility is to melt processes but secondary is to all Metal processes and products.
· Identify fundamental drivers of melt quality and implement improvements as necessary.
· Assess process variability and eliminate sources of special cause variation in our existing manufacturing practices.
· Utilize statistical methods to lead specific optimization trials through the defining of key variables.
· Perform analysis of process and performance data. Use analytical methods to assess melt quality.
· Research and propose changes to existing processes and procedures to drive major improvements in productivity and quality.
· Identify and demonstrate alternate applications of new technologies to high-impact products/processes.
· Assist production engineers in troubleshooting day-to-day production problems.
· Work with production engineers to manage the seamless implementation of new process operating conditions and procedures.
· Develop partnership with operations personnel for effective communication & continuous improvement.
· Other duties as assigned.
