Required experience / skills (2-3 years minimum) :
- Work experience in a lab environment
- Working knowledge of hazardous waste segregation and RCRA regulations
- Experience in hazardous waste disposal
- Work experience in high temperature processes (hot work)
This role will provide day to day support for the Materials Laboratory in the Decker Engineering building located in Corning, NY. The responsibilities for this job are somewhat evenly split between Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) duties and hands-on experimental support work within the lab. By utilizing inspection scheduling and incident response tracking software, the successful applicant will help management ensure the safety of others working in the lab, and that regulatory requirements are met. Additional duties include assistance with the various materials testing procedures and maintenance activities related to lab equipment. In summary, provide support and rigor for environmental, safety and project objectives applicable to lab functions.
