Innovation Sensory Insights is an essential function within our Health Sciences R&D organization that supports both innovation and renovation projects through product experience research. The team is seeking a laboratory technician to support our internal sensory testing program and maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of our sensory kitchen. This role reports to the Principal Scientist and works under the direction of the Senior Technician.
In this role, the individual will assist with the daily operations of the sensory kitchen and the sensory and consumer testing conducted by the department. This includes collaborating with scientists to ensure all project logistics are covered, enabling projects to run smoothly and efficiently.
Core Responsibilities :
Supporting day-to-day operation of the sensory laboratory under guidance of the senior technician :
- Maintains laboratory and supply space cleanliness and demonstrates safe laboratory behavior.
- Working with the lead scientist and manager, ensure that sensory studies are executed on time and with excellence.
- Helps plan and procure products and supplies for the laboratory each week to enable on-site tastings and product evaluations (e.g. foods, beverages, cups, napkins, etc.).
- Supports execution of sensory studies conducted by our sensory and employee panels.
- Familiar with and adheres to health, safety and environment policies and procedures that pertain to role and with good laboratory practices.
