Job Description
- We are now recruiting for a Scientist 1to join our Genomic Technologies Team in the Genomics Research Center.
- In this role you will utilize genomic techniques to support clinical and pre-clinical research company wide. You will be required to independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner. The successful candidate will join the NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) Operations team within Genomic Technologies, which runs validated high-throughput NGS methods.
- Independently conduct experiments that further project goals. This includes RNA sequencing from initial QC to data generation and completing samples through the Olink workflow.
- Interpret results to evaluate data quality.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in the assigned workflows.
- Understand and adhere to safety regulations and lab practices.
- Accurately document work performed and prepare reports when required.
- Perform troubleshooting for routine work and alert manager to any inconsistencies or errors or needed consultation.
Technical Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in scientific field or equivalent education with 5 years of experience
- Experience performing NGS library preparation is highly preferred.
- Experience performing Olink processing is highly preferred.
- Experience performing NGS on the Illumina sequencing platform.
- Experience using liquid handlers is preferred (including Formulatrix, Beckman, SPTLabtech and Eppendorf).
- Experience using LIMS is beneficial.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Works well in a multidisciplinary team environment
