Job Summary
The Senior Program Manager is an experienced leader responsible for overall project implementation. This role requires working closely with clients in the life sciences industry, including medical devices, to drive project success.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Integrate on-site into the client environment to lead project teams while fostering positive professional relationships.
- Define project objectives, requirements, and assumptions to structure and execute project plans.
- Plan, schedule, and manage project activities to fulfill objectives and meet requirements.
- Develop and implement integrated project plans, aligning tactics with overall strategy.
- Establish, maintain, and lead high-performance project teams, acting as the project advocate within the client organization.
- Lead risk management initiatives, ensuring appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
- Manage projects within defined scope, schedule, and budget while adhering to IPM project management standards.
- Develop and document high-level strategies to accomplish specific project objectives.
- Facilitate and lead effective project meetings, manage changes and conflicts, and develop resource planning estimates.
- Support project management team members to ensure project success while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Expertise in a structured project management process (Six Sigma and PMP certification preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively communicate and build relationships at all organizational levels.
- Technical aptitude with the ability to grasp knowledge across multiple disciplines and technologies.
- Proficiency in planning, project management, and organization, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities with a solid business acumen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering discipline (advanced degrees are a plus).
- 8-20 years of industry experience in medical device industries.
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods.
- Standard 40-hour workweek, with additional time as needed to meet objectives.
- Minimal travel required (10% or less annually).
- Ability to navigate office and manufacturing environments, including climbing stairs.
- Vision and hearing ability sufficient to perform job duties.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
Environmental Requirements
- Compliance with safety regulations requiring protective clothing and equipment.
- Work in temperature-controlled environments (68°F–79°F) or other conditions within a 10-degree range.
- Exposure to fumes, particulates, and general-purpose cleaning chemicals.
