QC Microbiology Associate I

Job Summary

In this role, you will support in-process and release testing for raw material, drug substance and mRNA drug products produced at Moderna's manufacturing facility and affiliated contract organizations.

Responsibilities

• Support testing for raw materials, drug substance and drug product, including generation of testing data to support clinical studies
• Assist in laboratory housekeeping
• Perform environmental and utilities monitoring
• Perform general laboratory support activities including reagent preparation, equipment maintenance, housekeeping, etc
• Establish and maintain a safe laboratory working environment
• Work with the quality control management team to continuously improve the quality, compliance and efficiency of QC operations
  
  

Qualifications

Required

• BS in a relevant scientific discipline.
• A minimum of 0-2 years Quality Control experience in a cGMP organization with a focus in Microbiology testing
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with Bioburden, Endotoxin, Media Growth Promotion, TOC and Sterility testing
• Ability to prepare reagents, pipette small volumes, work in a Biological Safety Cabinet
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under established guidelines and instructions
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (MODA, Lab Vantage, etc.)
• Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of GMP, microbiology, aseptic technique and general laboratory instrumentation
