Position Overview
The Procurement Specialist I will work closely with senior procurement specialists to manage procurement activities for a designated program. Responsibilities include issuing purchase orders (POs), handling billing issues, troubleshooting supplier invoices, and managing supplier acknowledgments and delivery tracking . The role requires on-the-job training (OTJ) and job shadowing with senior team members to develop expertise in procurement functions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Source, negotiate, and purchase machinery, equipment, tools, packaging materials, parts, and services .
- Create and manage requests for quotations (RFQs) and supplier certifications.
- Issue purchase orders (POs) under $30K and track supplier performance.
- Analyze statistical data to establish pricing objectives and determine feasibility.
- Maintain and update SAP with accurate procurement data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve supplier invoice issues.
- Participate in supplier visits and assist in developing program review agendas.
- Monitor industry trends and evaluate opportunities to optimize procurement strategies.
