Hello, my client is looking for a Scientist as this time in our Melville NY laboratories.
Position summary : Scientist
Bachelor’s degree (minimum), Master’s preferred in the biological sciences (biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or similar)
Candidate should have a satisfactory knowledge of and experience with modern molecular and cellular biology techniques. The candidate should be comfortable working with human cell lines as well as basic molecular biology techniques. Ability to conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, and troubleshoot experiments with minimal supervision. The candidate should be an excellent communicator, able to work within a team and communicate his / her results in a clear way. Finally, candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include :
- Designs, plans and executes assigned research utilizing established and innovative procedures applying scientific knowledge with leadership oversight.
- Hands-on lab experience in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry techniques :
- Molecular biology : ability to perform qPCR, DNA and RNA purification and quantification etc.
- Cell Biology : proficient in standard tissue culture techniques (e.g. aseptic techniques, sub-culturing etc). Experience working with 3D tissue models preferred but not required.
- Protein Biology / Biochemistry : proficient in standard techniques including ELISA, luminescence, Western Blot, flow cytometry, and microscopy.
- Ability to run cell-based and / or biochemical screens of raw materials to evaluate their potential usefulness in cosmetics.
- Accurately and consistently records experimental methods, materials and results in laboratory notebooks and in formal reports.
- Independently perform statistical and data analysis, evaluate results and form conclusions.
- Effectively communicate experimental results to colleagues and senior leadership
