CERTIFIED WELDING INSPECTOR
Raney Geotechnical, Inc. is searching for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) based out of our West Sacramento office to perform field and shop testing and inspections services on a variety of construction projects, including school, hospital, commercial, governmental, and residential projects in the greater Sacramento/Stockton area.
Starting at $30/hour
*Salary is negotiable, depending on experience, skillset, and certifications.
Required Qualifications:
· Must be a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) through the American Welding Society.
· At least 3 years of experience in materials testing and special inspections.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the inspection and documentation of field and shop welding to verify compliance with the approved project documents as well as the applicable building code and/or DSA requirements.
- Familiarity with construction materials standards, specifications, and codes (AISC, ASTM, AWS).
- Prepare daily reports of observations and test results.
- Interact with client representatives (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites.
- Ability to attend client meetings.
- Ability to work with fabrication, construction, and quality personnel as part of the verification process to ensure quality standards are being met at the project site or in a fabrication facility.
- Familiarity with sampling and testing of construction materials (i.e. structural steel, high strength bolts, anchor bolts, etc.) in accordance with project standards and specifications.
- Must possess strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
Other beneficial certifications include:
- Ultrasonic (UT Level II) certification is beneficial.
- International Code Council (ICC) Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
- ICC Prestressed (Post-Tension) Concrete Special Inspector
- ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
- ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector
- Division of State Architect (DSA) Masonry Special Inspector
- DSA Shotcrete Special Inspector
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Testing
