Job Summary
The Mobile Crisis Program Supervisor / Clinical Supervisor provides leadership and clinical oversight to the Mobile Crisis team, ensuring high-quality service delivery for individuals in crisis. This role combines the operational oversight of the mobile crisis program with the clinical supervision responsibilities, overseeing crisis intervention, therapy services, and mental health practitioner supervision. The supervisor ensures the program’s adherence to all regulatory and statutory requirements, enhances operational effectiveness, and supports the overall mission of providing accessible, compassionate crisis care to those in need.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Program Management & Supervision:
- Oversee the 24/7 day-to-day operations of the Mobile Crisis program, ensuring effective service delivery and alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
- Supervise and support Mobile Crisis team members, including clinical and direct service staff, ensuring that they receive adequate training, supervision, and resources.
- Schedule and assign staff as needed to ensure continuous service coverage, including filling in as part of the Mobile Crisis team during absences or emergencies.
- Coordinate hiring, orientation, and ongoing training for Mobile Crisis team members, ensuring compliance with regulatory and training standards.
- Monitor and track treatment plans, documentation, and service delivery to ensure program effectiveness and compliance with DHS, RMHC, and other regulatory requirements.
Clinical Oversight & Support:
- Provide clinical individual and group supervision to mental health practitioners, ensuring quality and compliance with agency policies and DHS standards.
- Offer guidance in developing treatment plans, evaluating clients, and providing psychotherapy to individuals and families in need.
- Support the clinical development of mobile crisis staff by offering case consultation, crisis intervention strategies, and ongoing training in evidence-based practices.
- Assist with crisis assistance and intervention as needed, providing direct service in high-stress situations to ensure client safety and well-being.
Collaboration & Coordination:
- Serve as a liaison between RMHC and community partners, including first responders, schools, and other service providers, to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Optimize referrals to and from RMHC, including ensuring appropriate community-based services for individuals outside the scope of the Mobile Crisis program.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, service providers, and referral sources to enhance the reputation and effectiveness of RMHC’s crisis services.
- Track and analyze data related to program effectiveness and make recommendations for operational improvements based on feedback and outcomes.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Collect, analyze, and report necessary data on program performance and effectiveness to RMHC leadership, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure the Mobile Crisis program operates within budgetary guidelines and adheres to all relevant policies and procedures.
- Provide advocacy and educational services to external partners, helping to position RMHC as the provider of choice for crisis services in the region.
- Participate in leadership team meetings, ensuring program strategies align with the overall goals of the organization.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of mental health resources and systems.
- Ability to provide clinical supervision, feedback, and support to a team of mental health practitioners.
- Experience in crisis management and the ability to make quick, effective decisions during critical situations.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Family Therapy, or related behavioral sciences from an accredited college or university.
- Licensed Mental Health Professional in Minnesota with appropriate credentials (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, etc.).
- At least two years of post-degree experience in social work, psychology, or related fields, including experience in clinical supervision.
- Experience with crisis intervention, individual and family therapy, and working with clients with severe emotional disturbances (SED) or emotional disabilities (ED).
Preferred:
- Experience in mobile crisis services and collaboration with school systems or community agencies.
- Experience managing or supervising a multidisciplinary team of professionals.
- Experience with clinical supervision and/or providing in-service training to staff.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties, including client interaction and documentation.
- Ability to handle significant stress levels during crisis interventions and provide calm, composed leadership in emergency situations.
Other Information:
- On-Call: This position may require participation in an on-call rotation to respond to urgent situations outside regular business hours.
- Travel: Valid Minnesota driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability by RMHC’s insurance carrier are required.
