What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Specialist position at Range Systems?
Position Purpose:
The purpose of this role is toreceive, document and store all relevant parts and materials in an organized and timely fashion. In addition, this position will prepare and ship out finished goods per instructions.
Essential Functions:
- Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against suppliers’ count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers and/or supervisor
- Distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations
- Carefully and accurately prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information
- Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions
- Validates, approves, and forwards packing slips to accounting department
- Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule
- Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments
- Completes information on damage claims for in-transit damage
- Transports materials on shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed
- Loads trucks using a forklift
- Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment
- Must able to work standard hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received
- Basic understanding of dock, and warehouse procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports
- Efficient time management skills
- Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous forklift experience desired
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
