POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Associate Buyer
Reports To: Director of Buying
Classification: Exempt
Location: Support Center – Blue Ash, OH
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Associate Buyer role supports the entire Merchandising team, and is responsible for new assortment selection, new vendor additions, margin enhancement, promotional cadences, and vendor management to support Range USA’s rapid growth and dynamic product lines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Build, Develop, and Execute Buying strategies to grow topline sales, expand margin, and improve inventory productivity
- Work with Store Leadership and Customers to identify untapped opportunities through new product additions or line expansion
- Create Range USA Exclusive product encompassing all product lines
- Focus on expanding sales through new SKU additions
- Work with Vendors to manage and analyze their available inventory levels
- Own and Identify Merchandising Bundle opportunities within Range, Firearms, Ammo, etc.
- Expand Vendor partnerships, with a focus on new vendors, merchandise forecasting/planning, promotions, and marketing opportunities
- Develop strategic assortment adjustments to maximize the seasonality impact
- Analyze sales trends to ensure in-stock of key items
- Management of Store level inventory based on presentation levels with recommendations for increases or decreases based on overall demand
- Management of slow-moving items, with recommendations of permanent price action or promotions.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Supply Chain, or Retail Merchandising.
1 year of work experience in a Buying role or working directly with the product and customers in a Store
Firearms experience and Industry Knowledge required
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is an on-site job located at our Main Office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Additionally, specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
