Job Responsibilities:
- Works without risk or harm to self or others
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures
- Safely operate both on and off-road vehicles
- Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
- Recognize, control, and communicate safety or environmental hazards
- Collecting rock chip samples using a geologist's hammer and chisel
- Chip-Channel sampling
- Keeping records of sampling intervals and ensuring bags and tags are properly labeled.
- Assisting with daily preparatory work for sampling (cleaning, markers, measurements, labeling).
- Organizing shipments and tracking.
- GPS navigation
- Prepare samples for shipment
Requirements:
- Ability to walk/hike up, down, and over rough terrain in remote locations
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. throughout the day
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Working knowledge and skill using personal computers
- Experience reading maps, using a GPS, and driving off-road is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Geology
- Requires a valid driver's license
- Experience using 3D modelling software, with experience in Vulcan and Leapfrog preferred
- Experience geological logging diamond drill core and RC
- Experience validating data and working with databases, such as Datashed
- Knowledge of QAQC practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
