Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Construction Pipe Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for laying and repairing water, storm-water, and sewer pipelines while ensuring that all tasks are performed safely and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a strong commitment to safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set proper grades and elevations, including flowline, grade stick, and string line.
- Check slopes for conformance to grading elevations using levels or lasers.
- Connect bell and spigot, sewer, and water pipelines.
- Cover pipes with aggregate and native material and compact as necessary.
- Hand dig bell holes to verify existing utility locations.
- Grade and level trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools.
- Install and repair water, storm-water, and sewer structures and pipe systems within trench shoring shields.
- Lay out pipe routes following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
- Take direction from the Foreman and provide support to peers.
- Work safely while adhering to Rangeline requirements and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain dependability and responsibility to be at work on time.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- At least 1 year of experience is preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of underground utility work, including materials, methods, and tools involved in installation.
- Proven track record of performing similar tasks safely and accurately.
- Ability to repetitively lift and carry at least 60 lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds consistently.
- Must be able to access and navigate various areas of the job site.
