What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician Level 3 position at RANGELINE TAPPING SERVICE INC?
Provides effective maintenance and operation of the water and wastewater utility. Utilizes troubleshooting skills to address utility operations and maintenance. Capable of performing duties without assistance and on a continuously successful basis and ability to complete high level projects.
Essential Functions:
Field work involving the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground water mains and tapping water mains
Independent travel to multiple worksites utilizing service trucks or equipment
Performs line stops, wet taps, and valve insertions utilizing different pipe types and products
Breakdown and setup of line stops, tapping, and valve inserting equipment
Performing and assisting in shop duties as necessary
Work within confined spaces (trench boxes, excavations, tunnels, and mechanical rooms)
Prepare and/or complete work orders and safety sheets
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Leadership skills to manage high level projects with other tech levels
Perform Temporary pipeline repairs and or advise on pipeline repair options for short-term and long-term repair solutions for mainline rehabilitation
Maintaining a consistent level of success without issues and shows the constant ability to train other technicians, while adhering to all policies and procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of and the ability to use basic hand tools, materials, and equipment commonly used in the performance of job function.
Knowledge of using pumps, compressors, and other appropriate equipment
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and be able to write legible and descriptive reports on duties performed.
Ability to work on emergency repairs and services unsupervised or in teams of various sizes.
Ability to work outdoors in various and/or extreme weather conditions
Must have a valid drivers license clear of multiple and/or major violations.
Class A CDL license (preferred)
Ability to work on an on-call or emergency basis as needed
Ability to travel locally, regional, or nationally
Working knowledge of OSHA & EPA Regulations.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Ability to maintain effective working relationships
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to proficiently operate Bluetooth/internet-requiring devices (e.g., GPS, tablet, phone)
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent5 years of similar experience in construction
Ability to operate forklifts and obtain a forklift certification (within 90 days of hire)
Ability to complete OSHA 10 (within 90 days of hire)

Exposure to extreme seasonal weather based on geographic region.
Exposure to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols.
Ability to work in high-stress and/or physically demanding environments
