What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Utility Field Technician position at Rangeline Tapping Services, Inc.?
Rangeline Tapping Services is seeking highly motivated Field Technicians to provide effective maintenance and operation for the water and wastewater utilities. Utilizes troubleshooting skills to address utility operations and maintenance.
Field Technicians must be able to travel out of town and have a clean driving record.

Essential Functions
- Field work involving the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground water mains and tapping water mains
- Independent travel to multiple worksites utilizing service trucks or equipment
- Performs line stops, wet taps, and valve insertions utilizing different pipe types and products.
- Breakdown and setup of line stops, tapping, and valve inserting equipment.
- Performing and assisting in shop duties as necessary
- Work within confined spaces (trench boxes, excavations, tunnels, and mechanical rooms)
- Prepare and/or complete work orders and safety sheets
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Required Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of and the ability to use basic hand tools, materials, and equipment commonly used in the performance of job function.
- Knowledge of using pumps, compressors, and other appropriate equipment
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and be able to write legible and descriptive reports on duties performed.
- Ability to work on emergency repairs and services unsupervised or in teams of various sizes.
- Ability to work outdoors in various and/or extreme weather conditions
- Must have a valid driver’s license clear of multiple and/or major violations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

- Must have a valid driver’s license clear of multiple and/or major violations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of OSHA 30 within 90 days of hire.
- Completion of OSHA 10 within first week of hire.
- Completion of Confined Space Training within one week of hire.
- 2 years of relevant work experience required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
