General Statement of Duties: The Coordinator of Continuing Education is responsible for the development and operation
of the college’s Continuing Education program. This includes noncredit courses and
programs, community-based education, and assistance with customized training for
business and industry. This individual reports directly to the Director of
Workforce Development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree with experience in education or business administration;
- Superb oral and written communication skills with an entrepreneurial spirit;
- Strong background in compliance, budgeting, and program oversight
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in working with the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board and
other state and national agencies. - Demonstrated success in the learning and use of software reporting systems;
- Experience in developing continuing education courses and programs;
- Experience in working with reporting systems
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Creates Continuing Education (CE) classes and schedules for Ranger College
(RC). - Locates and hires adjunct instructors for CE classes.
- Works with RC authorities to schedule classrooms, equipment and/or
specific course requirements. - Creates Tuition and Fee requirements for each course.
- Creates operating budgets for CE programs, and monitors/approves
expenditures via applicable policies. - Serves as an authority on Coordinating Board, GIPWE and WECM
requirements for the reporting of Continuing Education Courses. - Assures all Continuing Education courses comply with local and State policy
and procedures; - Prepares, maintains and presents continuing education records for local and
State auditors; - Develops and maintains participant documents for billing and record
keeping. - Ensures that all required documents, files and forms are submitted to agency
officials, if applicable, on a timely basis. - Coordinates the planning, development, implementation and support of the
college’s continuing education division; - Performs other related duties as directed
