Our Outpatient Speech Therapist will assess, monitor, and treat patients for physical impairments, cognitive impairments, functional limitations and developmental delays. This is a PRN position, but the ideal candidate will have Monday and Friday morning availability. The Outpatient department is not open on weekends.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Patient Care
- Performs comprehensive evaluation of patients' communication, developmental and feeding needs; plans and implements appropriate therapy, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Provides treatment that involves therapeutic use of work and play / leisure activities to address speech, language, fluency, voice, oral-motor, feeding and cognitive rehabilitation.
- Makes recommendations for patient equipment and assists in ordering; assists in ordering and maintenance of departmental equipment, toys and supplies; assists in maintenance of agency equipment and supplies.
- Assists in maintaining an environment that meets the physical, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patients, including participation in child development activities.
- Assists with patient caregiving to ensure patient cleanliness, comfort and safety; protects patients and employees by adherence to infection control policies.

These include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, pulling, pushing, standing, carrying, and lifting of light loads (up to 35 lb.).
