What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Satellite Locations position at Ranken Technical College?
Purpose of the Role and Scope of Responsibility: Reporting to the Vice President for Education, this position is responsible for leading efforts to maintain and grow enrollment and work force development opportunities outside of Ranken?s main campus. In addition, the position will oversee day-to-day operation of the Ashland, Troy, and Wentzville locations.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Overall: Oversee Ranken operations including, but not limited to: Admission/Enrollment/Retention, Business Operations, Work Force Development Opportunities, and Regional/Community Involvement at the Ashland, Troy, and Wentzville locations.
- Vision: Collaboratively lead the development of a strategic vision for expanding and scaling academic and workforce development programming ensuring alignment with Ranken?s goals and the needs of the community/region.
- Partner with Admissions Team and other departments where appropriate to ensure outcomes related to enrollment and retention goals.
- Partner with department chairs to help drive the goals of programs at these locations.
- Develop and implement an assessment framework to measure the effectiveness and impact of pipeline activities in achieving defined enrollment and retention goals and outcomes. Use data analysis to strategically identify trends and insights that inform pipeline activity adjustments, improvements, and future directions.
- Represent Ranken in community groups in the area.
- Program Development: Collaboratively support the design and development of current and new programs.
- Develop a current skills gap analysis for those regions in efforts to identify new avenues for program development.
- Establish partnerships with industry educating them on the current programs being offered at the College, provide ways they can assist the College with recruitment of students, development of programming that meets their needs, and assistance with resources. Assist with identifying customized training options for area employers.
- Assist department chairs in developing advisory boards containing key area industry representatives in those areas.
- Business Operations: Lead faculty and staff in providing the services to the College?s various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with support offices to promote effective communication during the admissions process, acquiring financial aid assistance, bookstore services, business offices services, and computer needs.
- Coordinate with 3rd party service providers at outside locations.
- Lead faculty in continuously assessing retention efforts to develop strategies to address current student success challenges.
- Assist Student Success Departments in addressing faculty-submitted alerts to create documented student success plans with struggling students.
- Provide oversight of employees and ensure Ranken policies are enforced.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of related work experience in an academic/higher education background is necessary.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree
Note ? Some evening and/or weekend hours will be required to participate in campus events. Travel is expected among locations as necessary for proper oversight of faculty and resources. Dedicated time will be expected at all three locations.
