Overview
The Activity Assistant supports the Life Enrichment Department in enriching the quality of our Residents social, recreational, intellectual and spiritual lives. The position is from 9:00am to 5:30pm and every other weekend with flexible days off during the week!

Responsibilities
- Responsible for running and or assisting in activities as well as communicate needs the residents may have to the Director.
- Charting is an essential part of this position.
- Developing and leading activity groups for the appropriate level of care assigned.
- Interviews with new residents within first two weeks of living at the community.
- Include interview information in resident book.
- Keeping work area, including desk and Activity Room, neat and orderly at all times.
- Working with the activities team and the Life Enrichment Director, produce a monthly activity calendar one week prior to the end of the month. Provide copies to all resident rooms.
- Lead activities based on the calendar and set up and put back everything required for the activity. Provide monthly supply list to Director.
- Assisting in transporting residents who require assistance to attend activities.
- Review the upcoming scheduled events at least one week prior.
- Report any changes in resident attendance of activities, whether an increase or a decrease.
- Maintain the upkeep of activities equipment.
- Document progress notes, provide care plan documentation and attend care plan meetings.
- Assist in ongoing evaluation of activity programs in order to improve the programs and better meet the needs of the residents.
- Review the calendar with visually impaired residents within first week of the month.
- Individual responsibility for self-safety and that of the immediate work environment.
- Annual updated attendance at Community sponsored seminars, which include but are not limited to, body mechanics, right-to-know laws, and fire and safety procedures.
- Attending Staff Meetings and reviewing minutes produced from meeting.
- Other tasks as requested.
Qualifications
- Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs on a daily basis and be able to handle the fast-paced enviroment in the day-to-day opeations.

- Ability to adapt to new activities.
- Flexible schedule.
- When necessary, ability to make adjustments during an activity to accommodate the group.

- Ability to operate audio-visual equipment or any other equipment that is needed to run an activity.
- Carry out delegated tasks.
- Ability to understand and follow the policies and procedures outlined in organizations Employee Handbook.
