Overview
At Webster at Rye, under the guidance of the Director of Dining Services and the Dietician he/she is responsible for assisting with the operation of the dietary department, specifically focusing in the healthcare area. He/she is responsible for maintaining all patients’ dietary records (menus, files, status report) up to date. Assisting during meal services and must be sure menus are being filled out appropriately according to diet manual/diet breakdown sheets. Reports nutritional concerns that a rise during patient visitations to the Dietician.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for visiting all new patient and conducting a formal dietary interview within the for first 48 hours of arrival.
- Updates menus and prepares tally sheets with a high degree of accuracy.
- Forecasts menus one (1) day ahead to include suggestions for each diet when applicable.
- Maintains patient status reports on file.
- Assists during meal services and assures diets are checked with a high degree of accuracy.
- Attends weekly residents care plan meeting and reports any area of concerns with Dietician.
- Assist Healthcare servers serve her/his Residents in the other Dining Rooms.
- Updates therapeutic menu cycle for main kitchen and satellite kitchen.
- Reports any nutritional concerns to Registered Dietitian, on days off reports to Supervisor.
- Directs the supervision of all hourly personnel and administers all personnel programs and policies. Works varied shifts and weekends.
- Makes sure that associates are properly stocking satellite kitchen and maintains PAR lists.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Assumes responsibility for self-safety and that of immediate work environment.
- Ensures all sanitation procedures are followed in main kitchen and satellite kitchen
- Maintains resident place cards and seating arrangements in health Care dining rooms.
- Assures daily menus are posted for lunch and dinner daily.
- Maintains adequate staffing for healthcare, responsible for filling call outs in department with input from Dining Management.
- Supervises other serving areas during operation with concentration on healthcare.
- Responsible for setting up/assisting with special functions as set forth by Dining Management.
- Performs all other duties assigned, assisting where needed, including cooking.
- Provides and assists with all staff duties as the Manager on Duty on their shifts; acts in a professional manner and maintains a professional atmosphere at all times.
- Responsible for the complete cleanup by associates concentrating in healthcare kitchen and dining rooms.
- As a supervisor will be held accountable for Safety/Risk Management in the Dining Service Department, and ensuring all regulations are met.
- Responsible for accident investigation and implementation of corrective action, records, temperatures for food, dish machines, and maintains corrective action.
- Attending an annual in-service on body mechanics, right-to-know information, and fire & safety procedures.
- Adheres to Webster at Rye’s Policies and Procedures including uniform, break schedule and smoking.
Qualifications
- Possesses an understanding of the different diets offered at Webster at Rye Rannie Webster Foundation.
- Able to interact well with patients.
- Possesses the ability to check trays with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50lb.
- Education in dietary is a plus.
