Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Preparation Worker to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong understanding of food handling practices. This position is essential in supporting the overall operations of our dietary department, restaurant, or catering services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in meal preparation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and slicers.
• Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
• Monitor food storage conditions to prevent spoilage and ensure compliance with health standards.
• Participate in inventory management by tracking supplies and reporting shortages.

Requirements

• Previous experience in the food industry or a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
• Basic culinary skills with an understanding of meal preparation processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
