Patient Care Coordinator – Rao Plastic Surgery
Location: 7341 E Tanque Verde Tucson, AZ 85715
Job Type: Part Time: Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays
Reports To: Practice Manager / Lead Physician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join Rao Plastic Surgery. This role is integral to ensuring an exceptional patient experience from the initial consultation to post-operative care. The ideal candidate will provide outstanding customer service, educate patients on procedures, coordinate treatment plans, and serve as a liaison between the patient and medical team.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Relations & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing patients.
- Educate patients on surgical and non-surgical procedures, answering questions with clarity and professionalism.
- Schedule consultations, pre-operative, and post-operative appointments.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with patients to provide guidance, reassurance, and support throughout their journey.
- Scheduling of surgical procedures and coordinating with surgery centers.
Administrative & Coordination Duties:
- Assist with patient intake, ensuring accurate collection of medical history and required paperwork.
- Coordinate treatment plans, financing options, and procedure scheduling with patients.
- Work closely with the surgeon and medical staff to streamline patient flow and ensure efficient office operations.
- Manage patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle inbound and outbound patient inquiries through phone, email, and office visits.
- Experience with Modernizing Medicine/EMA is a plus
Sales & Financial Coordination:
- Follow up with prospective patients to encourage booking and retention.
- Assist with processing payments, deposits, and financial agreements.
Marketing & Patient Engagement:
- Assist in promoting office services through social media, newsletters, and patient testimonials.
- Support patient events, educational seminars, and community outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance patient engagement and brand awareness.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience in a medical office, preferably in plastic surgery, dermatology, aesthetics, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and HIPAA compliance.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling software.
- Sales or customer service experience in a healthcare or aesthetic setting is a plus.
- Professional demeanor, polished appearance, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical, cosmetic, or customer service-focused role.
