Counseling Program Coordinator / Trauma Therapist

Hours : Full Time (40 hours per week) / Exempt
Compensation : $75,000- $84,000 / Year DOE 5% pay differential for bilingual Spanish / English fluency

Counseling Program Coordinator / Trauma Therapist is a position that requires an empathic, passionate and pragmatic individual who can serve the needs of San Mateo County families. Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, the position will coordinate RTS’s efforts to ensure quality counseling and / or clinical services for survivors and families affected by sexual abuse / assault. This position will provide trauma-based psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families.
The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following :
- Make face-to-face or voice-to-voice contact with survivors and families within 1 business day of referral from team members
- Document attempted and completed services into agency database
- Provide administrative and programmatic support of counseling program
- Manage the development and maintenance of a trauma-informed therapist referral list
- Provide direct trauma counseling services, accompaniment and advocacy to children, adults and families
- Participate in weekly meetings with Counseling Program Director
- Participate in rotating back-up support to volunteer Sexual Assault Counselors
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of sexual abuse / assault survivors and their families utilizing TF-CBT, EMDR, play therapy, art therapy, and / or other evidence-based and / or trauma-informed therapeutic modalities
- Perform treatment planning, crisis intervention, advocacy and consultation in collaboration with other multi-disciplinary team members
- Perform case management and advocacy to ensure families are connected to community service providers
- Actively participate in clinical supervision
- Perform other agency responsibilities as needed
