Mental Health Therapist - (LPC/MHSP and LCSW preferred)
JOB SUMMARY
The therapist will provide case management and individual counseling services to patients as an integral and synergistic member of the overall recovery team while adhering to the policies and procedures of the center. The therapist will set an example of compassionate care utilizing various modalities of substance abuse. The therapist will be responsible for educational and administrative services as required.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The therapist will report directly to the Therapy Coordinator of the center where assigned, and will work closely with other medical staff for direction in areas of specialty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Intake and assessment of new patients
- Create a Plan of Care/Treatment Plan for new patients.
- Provide individual counseling
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Coordination of care with outside providers such as but not limited to referrals, and providing requested documentation
- Identify patients needs requiring professional care in addition to their addiction/recovery needs, i.e., dual diagnoses
- Manage an appropriate caseload consisting of maximum 8-10 patients/day including paperwork.
- Complete all charting within 24 hours of patient visit.
- Organize and maintain personal work area.
- Travel to assigned sites.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consultation with physicians and/or other therapists.
- Respond to phone calls within 24 hours.
- Attend staff meetings, therapy meetings & treatment team meetings as directed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate degree in SOCIAL WORK, PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING, CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING or closely related field required.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
LCSW or LPC/MHSP in Tennessee; eligible for licensure in Tennessee as an LCSW or LPC/MHSP or in a closely related field within 24 months of hire date; or, licensure in a closely related field in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain licensure in Tennessee.
Must have a valid driver's license.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Pay will be commensurate with experience and education.
- Must submit to random drug testing.
- Must have knowledge of the 12 Step Program.
- Working hours 7:30am – 5:00pm, M-F. (40 hrs./week (4-10 hr. days or 5-8 hr. days) (30 hrs./week, 3-10 hr. days)
