- General Information: 10 L&D beds; 4 OB ED (Triage beds); 4 Antepartum rooms
- Patient Types: All types of pregnant patients, including high-risk and low-intervention laboring patients
- Patient Ratios: Antepartum: 1:3, Inactive Labor: 1:2, Active Labor: 1:1, Postpartum/Couplet care: 1:3 couplets
- Skills required: Must care for couplets, IV starts, cervical checks, phlebotomy, magnesium sulfate, blood administration, insulin, circulate C-sections, C-section recovery care
- Charting System: EPIC
- Floating: Required to work Postpartum/Couplet care throughout the contract
- Orientation: 4 days with preceptor – 3 in L&D and 1 in PP
- Required: BLS, NRP
- Preferred: ACLS, certification in inpatient obstetrics, electronic fetal monitoring, or inpatient antepartum
- Shift Times: 12-hour shifts, 0630/1830, variable shifts, must work Nights/Days throughout contract
- Weekend rotation: every other
- No call
- Holiday Expectations: holidays as needed
- Approval of time off: Manager Approval
- Unit Secretary
- Scrub Tech that supports L&D RNs
- Charge nurse
- VAT team available if needed
- RT, 24/7
- OB Physician team
- Anesthesia/CRNA
