  • General Information
  • Beds : 44
  • Minimum experience : 1.5 years general nursing experience
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, only with 2 years of experience
  • Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility
  • Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
  • Patient Types : Mixed acuity unit with Intermediate Care, Tele, and MedSurg
  • Direct admits, ED admits, Post Cath Lab
  • MI, NSTEMI & STEMI management
  • Backup Stroke unit and Medical Overflow
  • Step down level experience with post cardiac / vascular patients

    • Job Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
  • PCU level RN
  • Experience with Cardiac procedural recovery (CABG / TAVR / post cardiac cath)
  • MI pharmacology, titratable Cardiac / vasoactive gtts
  • Heparin gtts, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes management
  • TNK administration (preferred)

    • Schedule Information

  • Weekend rotation : Every other
  • No call
  • Holiday Expectations : Every other
  • Approval of time off : Up to 7 days, must extend if taking a full week off
  • No time off the first (3) weeks of August annually (Sturgis Bike Rally)

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Patient Ratios : RN : 1 : 4 most of the time, can be 1 : 3 (acuity dependent)
  • Support on the Unit : CNA, Charge nurse, Phlebotomy, RT, Hospitalist
  • Charting System / Equipment : Epic, Alaris, Omnicell
  • Floating : Primarily to sister unit, General PCU, could also float to MS / Tele or ICU
