Our Dermatology team is growing! Rapid City Medical Center is seeking a full-time Esthetician to join our Dermatology team. This position provides a variety of skin care services to our patients. There is an opportunity for commission on product sales.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Consultations with patients to choose the right treatment, including photo imaging to capture patients current skin health.
- Perform treatments like facials, chemical peels, waxing, microdermabrasion, vellus hair removal, acne extractions, dermal infusions, skin tightening and other services within the scope of practice.
- Sanitize and maintain equipment.
- Assist in creating / posting of cosmetic specials.
- Cosmetic inventory.
- Ordering supplies as needed.
- Patient education.
- Product sales.
- Scheduling appointments.
- Participate in clinic events including Brilliant Night Out, Made for Shade, and other department events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of esthetician program.
EXPERIENCE: One year preferred.
REQUIREMENTS: Active Licensed Esthetician. CPR certification.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of tasks and workflow within the Dermatology department
- Knowledge of policies within the department
- Knowledge of procedures and services provided
- Understanding of medical terminology as directed by physicians and providers
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, patients, families, physicians, managers and other staff within the clinic
- Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Combination of office and exam settings.
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling & assisting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
