What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Endoscopy Scheduling position at Rapid City Medical Center?
The Endoscopy Center, Inc. is a physician-owned ambulatory surgery center specializing in endoscopic procedures and located in Rapid City, South Dakota between Badlands National Park and the Black Hills. Our state-of-the-art facility includes three procedure rooms, an electronic medical record, endoscope tracking, scope drying cabinets, and friendly staff experienced in the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy.
We are currently seeking a full time LPN or CMA to join our Pre-Op Intake scheduling department. Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. No weekends, no holidays!

General Summary of Duties
- Schedules procedures for RCMC GI providers.
- Completes scheduling intake to obtain all necessary patient demographic, health and insurance information.
- Coordinates schedule with time and equipment availability.
- Identifies scheduling conflicts and makes adjustments as necessary.
- Communicates with referring providers regarding patient cancellations or refusals.
- Communicates with providers regarding medication needs for patients having procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
- Ability to convey excellent customer service.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current LPN license or CMA certification.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Combination of office and exam settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling & assisting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
