What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optician position at Rapid City Medical Center?
Rapid City Medical Center is seeking a part-time or full-time Optician to join our beautiful Eyewear Studio located at the Tower Rd clinic!
Qualified candidates will have excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills and be able to work in a team environment. Experience preferred, but willing to train.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. No holidays, no evenings, and no weekends required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Orders new/replacement frames and lenses based on prescription.
- Frame repairs and adjustments.
- Maintains, cleans and polishes frames and lenses.
- Instructs patients about contact lenses including how to handle, clean, insert and remove.
- Handles patient questions via phone and in person.
- Uses and maintains equipment and supplies appropriately.
- Follows HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an office environment. Work may require hand dexterity for computer keyboarding, the telephone and other office machine operations. Varied activities including sitting, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching. Interaction with others is constant, may be interruptive. Must maintain patient confidentiality.
