Rapid City Medical Center has a full-time Patient Financial Services position available in our Business Office. This position assists patients and staff with billing questions while upholding excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate in a polite, prompt and helpful manner via phone & face-to-face opportunities.
- Effectively decipher, review, and relay insurance processing outcomes.
- Research, validate, and input demographics information & other aspects of the account.
- Provide education while maintaining healthy financial relationships.
- Review and audit patient accounts.
- Reconcile patient accounts.
- Provide billing education to resolve patient billing disputes.
- Initiate and monitor payment plans.
- Process payments via phone.
- Promote open communication with clinical staff supporting financial policies and processes.
- Must maintain patient confidentiality.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school degree or equivalent. Must be 18 years or older.
EXPERIENCE:
Healthcare experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE
- No Surprise Billing Act
- Medical terminology
- Insurance billing/processing
- Collections
- HIPAA
- Read and interpret an explanation of benefits (EOB)
- Microsoft Office
