Rapid KC is growing! As part of our expansion into ocean transportation, we are seeking an Ocean Freight Forwarder with at least three years of Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OTI) experience. This role is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of our ocean freight operations, helping us establish and optimize international shipping solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in Rapid KC’s expansion into ocean freight logistics, managing end-to-end shipment processes.
- Coordinate and oversee international ocean freight shipments, ensuring smooth transit and delivery.
- Handle documentation, including Bills of Lading (B/L), shipping instructions, and customs paperwork.
- Build and maintain relationships with ocean carriers, customs brokers, and international partners.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) regulations and other industry standards.
- Negotiate freight rates to optimize cost-effectiveness while maintaining top-tier service levels.
- Monitor shipments, provide timely updates to clients, and troubleshoot any transit issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline logistics operations and support sales growth.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Minimum 3 years of experience in Ocean Transportation Intermediary (OTI) operations management
· Strong knowledge of ocean freight documentation, international shipping regulations, and customs procedures.
· Experience working with NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers) is a plus.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
· Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Suites.
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (preferred but not required).
