Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team as a mobile wound care medical assistant. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including long term care facilities, nursing homes, but primarily within patient homes (90%). This position requires a strong understanding of medical procedures and excellent interpersonal skills to support both patients and healthcare providers.
Duties
- Assist healthcare professionals in performing examinations and procedures.
- Measure and record vital signs and wound measurements.
- Administer topical medications as directed by physician.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Support the management of patient flow within the clinic or facility.
- Assist with outpatient services, including scheduling appointments and follow-ups.
- Participate in emergency medicine situations as needed, providing immediate support to patients.
- Collaborate with physician to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of medical equipment and work areas.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical assistant role or relevant healthcare experience with wound care, surgery or dermatology is preferred.
- Knowledge of various medical specialties such as PICU, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and outpatient care is advantageous.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and administering medications safely.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and operating room protocols is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- A commitment to providing compassionate care to all patients.
As of right now we are hiring only one medical assistant, but may in the future hire more providers and medical assistants. Workers compensation is included with the job, along with end of year bonuses based on performances from 2K-5K. This is a contract position and so no benefits would be given. Salary ranges from 17-21 dollars an hour based on experience level. Travel reimbursement will be provided. Applicants with more experience will be preferred. First date of work starts from May 5th, however training prior to starting based on experience level will be required and is also included with payment.
