What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN needed for IV spa position at Rapid Recovery?
Rapid Recovery is looking for a couple of RNs who are available to cover some shifts at our office. We will need someone who can pick up maybe one weekday per week (mostly Thursdays), and an occasional weekend day. Hours are 8-5.
The person we're looking to hire has to be an absolute IV wizard. "Able to get a dehydrated squirrel in one stick" is what we like to say. Our patients are coming to a spa for a smooth, luxury experience and if you're having to jab them three times, this isn't the gig for you. We typically hire only RNs with 5 years of high-intensity IV work, like Labor and Delivery nurses, pre-op, ICU nurses, and ER nurses. You have to have done a BUNCH of IVs.
You also have to have a sparkling personality. This isn't an ER. We aren't here to get them in and get them out. Our patients expect and deserve to be pampered. There's an entire section in our policies and procedures about The Rapid Recovery Experience.
Your nursing license must be clean as a whistle.
THE GOOD NEWS:
No broken bones, screaming people, trauma, or real problems. Because we're all self-pay our patients are well-off, clean, and want to be here. They're generally friendly and don't have any real issues. Once in a blue moon we'll run into someone who you'll have to send to urgent care or an ER because what we offer isn't enough for them, but in general you're dealing with lower acuity situations.
The pay is better than most hospitals, and you don't have the hassle of hospital issues.
If you see a five patients in a day, that's a huge day.
Super pleasant work environment, and you're always a hero to your patients.
THE BAD NEWS:
We're a small company, owned by a couple, and we don't offer things like paid time off or health insurance. We'd love to, but it would break the place. We do provide snacks. ;-)
You have to be ultra-dependable. If you don't show for your scheduled work day (which YOU pick), we are closed. There isn't backup sitting around waiting to go to the office if you call us at 7:30 to tell us you can't make it. Unreliable people don't get to keep working here.
That's the whole story. If you'd like to hear more or be scheduled for an interview, respond to this ad with a cover letter and resume, and Rachel (Partner/COO and the person who does the hiring) will contact you.
