Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This role requires a solid understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The X-ray Technician will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician orders while adhering to safety protocols.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images while minimizing exposure to radiation.
- Maintain and operate X-ray equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and reporting any malfunctions.
- Document patient information and imaging results accurately in medical records.
- Assist in emergency situations by providing necessary imaging support in accordance with emergency medicine protocols.
- Collaborate with medical administrative support to schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and participate in ongoing training as required.
Requirements
- Valid certification as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Experience in inpatient settings, particularly within hospital medicine or PICU environments, is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures and operating room (OR) protocols is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
