Job Description:
. Able to demonstrate the ability to be proficient in setting up and operating laser cutting equipment. Manufacturing of product for customers in a safe and cost-efficient manner
Responsibilities:
- Possess the knowledge to manufacture customer parts in the most safe and cost-efficient way to produce a quality part meeting all requirements and within the planned routed hours.
- Ensures the Preventive Maintenance routines of assigned equipment are maintained.
- Ensures the quality of work manufactured per customer requirements and reports nonconformances to Quality prior to quality control inspection activities.
- Ensures all quality checks are conducted before product moves to next operation.
- Keep your work area clean.
- Ensures a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements.
- Ensures all personnel in the laser operations area are adhering to company safety rules and OSHA requirements.
- Reviews all laser nests and edits to the most cost-efficient layout.
- Follows daily schedule from Production Manager for all duties regarding the laser operations.
- Communicates with Production Manager to assure all laser protocols are being properly followed to assure a quality product.
- Ensures all incoming material is properly stored for preservation.
- Ensures all incoming customer property is properly identified and stored.
- Other duties as assigned.
Relation of the position to others in the company
Laser Operators report to Laser Supervisor and works with Material Handlers
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a Laser Machine Operator or similar operations and familiar with types of laser cutting and metal cutting techniques.
· Ability to read manufacturing prints.
- Interpret prints and customer requirements so that appropriate set-ups are done and that quality parts are manufactured.
- Understand GD&T terminology.
· Math skills.
- Ability to maintain forklift certification.
· Material knowledge- carbon, stainless, and aluminum
- A team player, with good communication skills.
· Ability to work 4PM-2:30AM Monday through Thursday, with the possibility of overtime and weekends when necessary.
· Must be at least 18 years of age and must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.
· Must have a reliable means of transportation.
Preferred Skills:
· Laser programming
· Experience with Bystronic or Trumpf Lasers
· Inventory management
· Bilingual
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
