Requirements:
- Experience: At least 5 years in solder assembly within electronics manufacturing, ideally in a contract manufacturing or OEM environment.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications/Standards: Knowledge of IPC 610 Class 3 and J-STD-001 standards, with familiarity in soldering through-hole and SMT components.
- Skills:
- Proficient in soldering (both lead and lead-free processes).
- Understanding of military/commercial electronics.
- Ability to read and interpret datasheets, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified environments.
- Proficiency in using various tools (e.g., heat guns, torque drivers, microscopes).
- Experience with post-soldering operations on PCBs, wiring, subassemblies, and cable harnesses.
- Knowledge of ECN (Engineering Change Notices) and other PCB modifications.
Responsibilities:
- Perform post-solder operations on printed circuit boards (PCBs), including soldering through-hole and SMT components.
- Ensure the application of IPC 610 Class 3 standards for assembly, including resistors, capacitors, diodes, and other components.
- Work with microscope to solder and remove SMT devices, including use of the PACE hot air rework station.
- Inspect and touch-up soldering for quality assurance, maintain production standards, and follow assembly instructions and ECNs.
