- Perform in process, and first article inspections using customer drawings to determine compliance and record inspection status on QC records.
- Proficient with measurement & inspection equipment (microscopes, calipers, multi-meters, ohm meters)
- Inspection of electronic assy’s, Harnesses and enclosures to IPC-610, WHMA-620 and ANSI-J-001 class 3 requirements
- Understanding of ANSI-J-001 Class 3 requirements for pin through hole components devices to PCB’s and inspection under a microscope.
- Periodic monitoring of wave processes and operator self-inspection in accordance with established control plan.
- Knowledge of soldering, routing and attaching (using adhesive) of jumper’s wires to PCB’s.
- Thorough understanding of PCB assembly drawings and related documents: ECN’s, assembly instructions, and travelers.
- Proficient using microscopes for inspection
Required education, experience and attributes of a successful candidate:
- Must have previous experience in an EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) or OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) environment.
- Education Level – High School.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret Blueprints and Assembly instructions.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 or AS9100, NADCAP-certified electronics-manufacturing environment.
- Experience inspecting printed circuit board assemblies to IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards.
- Must be proficient in English including the ability to communicate with all departments in the company.
- Knowledge of military and or commercial electronics and components.
- Knowledge of ANSI-J-001ES and NASA std 9739.1 a plus.
- Able to read and interpret customer’s datasheets, blueprints and special instructions to examine installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware and components to detect assembly errors.
- Experience documenting 1st article inspections to AS9102 standard a plus.
- Experience using Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment a plus.
