What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician III position at RapidCrew Solutions?

This is an exciting opportunity to be on the cutting edge of technology and join a dedicated

team enabling new technology to improve processes in a pre-production environment.

You will receive training in Austin, Texas or Hillsboro, Oregon for a period of 1-3 months.

NOTE: Position will work night shifts on a compressed work week requiring flexibility

to change work schedule as required.

This position requires full-time presence at your assigned

office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.

Responsibilities:

  • Check and maintain equipment within factory standard specifications of system equipment
  • Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system equipment
  • Serve as company liaison with customer on matters for assigned projects (i.e. installations and major component replacements)
  • Perform complex repair maintenance or unit replacement according to factory procedures independently and with others
  • Provide technical support to customers and respond to questions regarding operation procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize equipment down time and ensure positive customer relations
  • Identify and report equipment error and status updates related to equipment performance issues to aid in troubleshooting or maintenance
  • Maintain accurate documentation of activity and provide periodic reports
  • Conduct training for customer personnel ensuring proficiency of service and operations
  • Work with other technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (i.e. technical training, military training or technical school) plus 5-7 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of Linux operating system is preferred for operating and troubleshooting the system
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field (i.e. semiconductor manufacturing equipment)
  • Hands on mechanical skills required
  • Hands on experience with electronic testing tools required
  • Able to work on equipment alone and work with other engineers as a team player under challenging situations
  • Additional experience or knowledge in optical, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skill or chemical are plus
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills, verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer support experience is a plus
  • Must be able to travel and work flexible schedules
  • Must feel comfortable working in a cleanroom environment most of the day (wearing full clean room suit, facemask, gloves, safety glasses)
  • May require International and domestic travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary). Additionally, because this position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job, must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies.
  • Requires ability to lift up to 30 pounds individually and for lifting over 30 pounds assistance may be available.
  • Substantial amount of standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking and hearing.
  • Occasionally kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and climbing stairs or ladder.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity with or without corrective lenses for extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The work environment may include a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to chemicals, ultraviolet light and lasers, working in enclosed spaces, close quarters, narrow aisles or passageways.
  • The work environment may include working in highly time sensitive situations requiring quick resolution including equipment problems.

Must have:

  • Hands-on experience with repairing, maintaining, and replacing complex mechanical and electrical equipment components.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working with semiconductor manufacturing equipment
  • Proficiency with electronic testing tools for diagnostics and repairs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, explain technical issues, and provide training on equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Linux for operating and troubleshooting system equipment.
  • Additional technical experience in specialized fields like optics, lasers, or robotics can provide extra value.
  • Expertise in precision mechanical work, especially if related to fine adjustments or calibrations in equipment.
  • Previous experience in providing technical support to customers or managing customer-facing roles.
  • Prior experience working in cleanrooms with full protective gear (facemask, gloves, safety glasses).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Experience:
