QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field OR Five years of experience as in the installation, maintenance, and management of technology.
2. Experience in system design, programming, and maintenance of programming
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
JOB GOAL: To maintain accurate inventory of school system technological devices while ensuring all devices are configured, installed,
supported, and maintained for maximum utilization
TERM: Twelve Months
SALARY: Non-Certified Salary Schedule SB129
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. To consistently demonstrate self-direction while submitting accurate records and reports
promptly
II. To work with and foster open communication and positive relationships with school
personnel and staff
III. To foster open communication and positive relationships with the community
IV. To work with Chief Financial Officer to ensure E-Rate funding is maximized
V. To plan with all divisions in the school system for use of technology/computers
VI. To serve as consultant to central office personnel, school-based administrators, and
teachers for the effective use of technology/computers/hardware and software
VII. To meet with central office personnel, principals, and teachers to communicate all
regulations and policies related to technology usage
VIII. To develop a parish-wide standard for review and purchase of hardware and software
IX. To configure and install district/school-wide and local-area network components
X. To maintain and support district-wide area-network and school-based local-area-networks
to include:
A. Monitoring server disk space
B. Regular server backup
C. Monitoring licenses for networked software
D. Managing staff/student users on district e-mail and web server
E. Providing software and hardware maintenance
XI. To coordinate computer and network-related repair requests with appropriate district
personnel
XII. To maintain inventory of all hardware and software
XIII. To act as a resource for school personnel to assist schools with planning future goals,
needs, expenditures and implementation of the district technology plan at the school level
XIV. To keep current on new products and trends in networking technology through provided
publications and training
XV. To institute measures designed to guard against catastrophic loss such as fire or flood.
Such measures include appropriate back-up and safe-guarding devices
XVI. To exhibit professional ethics
XVII. To perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor and the
Superintendent or Designee
