QUALIFICATIONS: Certification as Assessment Teacher according to Bulletin 746
REPORTS TO: Pupil Appraisal Manager
JOB GOAL: To implement the Pupil Appraisal process in the identification of
suspected exceptional children and to re-evaluate identified exceptional
children
TERM: Nine, Ten, or Eleven Months
SALARY: Nine, Ten or Eleven Month Teacher Salary Schedule
Nine, Ten or Eleven Student:Pupil Appraisal Salary Schedule
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. To intervene upon referral of a child for Special Education services
II. To participate in formal and informal educational assessment
III. To conduct classroom observations
IV. To summarize the educational assessment after consultation and working with the classroom teacher
V. To recommend whether or not to conduct a diagnostic assessment after completion of the
educational assessment
VI. To work with classroom teacher on the diagnostic/prescriptive program for any child being continued in the current educational setting
VII. To maintain appropriate records
VIII. To establish and execute a professional growth and self-evaluation plan
IX. To work effectively with school personnel and staff
X. To consistently demonstrate self-direction
XI. To submit accurate records and reports promptly
XII. To exhibit professional ethics
XIII. To foster open communication and positive relationships with school personnel and staff
XIV. To foster open communication and positive relationships with the community
XV. To perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Special Education
XVI. To follow State and School Board policies
