Certification Requirements

RN Position in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
- The Rapides Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled RN to join its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit team.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in pediatric ICU nursing is mandatory for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain current certifications, including ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
Scheduling and Work Environment
- This is a rotating weekend shift position.
- Staff may work a mixed schedule of days, nights, and weekends to ensure adequate coverage.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Details
- The unit has 6 beds and provides specialized care for critically ill children.
- Floater areas include the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Nursery.
Unit Information
- The staff consists of 1 charge nurse and 1 RN/LPN on each shift.
- Patient ratios are 1:1 to 2, ensuring individualized attention and care.
- The unit is equipped with advanced technology, including Alaris IV pumps, Bair huggers, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and ventilators.
- The electronic medical record system used is Meditech/Pyxis.
