Job Summary And Qualifications
As a PBX Operator you will work in a dual role as an Operator and Mailroom clerk. The operator is responsible for high quality, efficient communication service to patients, physicians, employees, public, etc. The mailroom clerk will receive and sort mail for distribution.

Job Summary And Qualifications
As a PBX Operator you will work in a dual role as an Operator and Mailroom clerk. The operator is responsible for high quality, efficient communication service to patients, physicians, employees, public, etc. The mailroom clerk will receive and sort mail for distribution.
What you will do in this role:
- Answer incoming, overhead pages calls and route them to the appropriate destination
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to maintain privacy and security of Privileged Health Information (PHI)
- Responds to codes, disasters, fire alarms, etc.
- Notify on call staff for surgery, cath lab, etc. after hours, weekends, and holidays
- Sleep room assignments
- Monitor morgue activity
- Assign and swap pagers
- Ensures mail is delivered to boxes by 10:30am each day
- Follows established procedures in processing and routing mail and selling postage
- Consistently courteous in interacting with both internal and external customers
- Daily reports are completed timely and accurately
- Demonstrates proficiency in applying proper postal rate calculations
- Follows financial policies at all times
- Consults Director when uncertain or unusual situations arise
- Strives to promote effective and good working relationships with co-workers, staff members, supervisors and persons in positions of authority
- Available to work unscheduled shifts
- Courteous, helpful and informative to all customers. Communicates effectively with customers, vistors, staff and answering calls in a timely manner
- Communicates with Security and identifies and reports potential security risk for campus and individuals
- Exhibits through knowledge of codes and alarm systems and is able to execute the procedure for responding to each
- Processes and sends outgoing mail utilizing postal procedures and equipment.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- High School Graduate / GED
- Previous Tele-communications experience desired. Good telephone voice, ability to overlap, and cope with pressure and stress.
- Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance
- Willingness to be open to learning and growing.
