Job Summary And Qualifications
The acute care physical therapist assistant student intern will administer treatments to the disabled, injured or diseased pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient per the medical direction of the referring physician. The physical therapist assistant student intern will perform administrative duties inherent to the position. The physical therapist assistant student intern will assist in clerical duties of the department and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary And Qualifications
The acute care physical therapist assistant student intern will administer treatments to the disabled, injured or diseased pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient per the medical direction of the referring physician. The physical therapist assistant student intern will perform administrative duties inherent to the position. The physical therapist assistant student intern will assist in clerical duties of the department and perform other duties as assigned.
What you will do in this role:
- Analyzing medical histories to ensure appropriated treatment;
- Proper consultation with physicians and other staff regarding the patient;
- Administering prescribed treatments to patients in medical, surgical, and critical care areas in accordance to established plan of care from PT
- Performing administrative duties inherent to the position: supervision of therapy techs;
- Assisting in the organizing and supervising clinical affiliation programs for students
- Assisting in the clerical duties of the department and other duties as assigned;
- Requires heavy lifting and good use of proper body mechanics; and
- Education of family/patient on treatments precautions and home programs.
- Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA)
- Enrolled in an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program contracted with Rapides Regional Medical Center
- Associate Degree
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
