Job Title: Travel Social Worker
Location: Alexandria, LA
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Schedule Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Days – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Worker for a 13-week travel assignment in Alexandria, LA. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is passionate about helping patients and families navigate complex emotional, social, and financial challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychosocial assessments and develop care plans based on patient needs
- Assist patients and families in coping with hospitalizations, illnesses, and discharge planning
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate services and resources
- Make referrals to community resources, including mental health, housing, and support programs
- Advocate for patients’ rights and ensure continuity of care
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Active Social Work license (LMSW)
- Minimum 3 -4 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative care team
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role
- Case Management experience
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.

- Interviewing patients/families face-to-face
- MDRs on each unit, every day
- InterQual reviews on every patient; Observation reviews, DPEs, Discharge planning
- Midas/InterQual use
