Overview
We are seeking to add dedicated and skilled Dental Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate will help in chair side assistance providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within the practice. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the dental team. Regular and Expended Function dental assistants can apply too. Experience using Open Dental soft ware is a benefit, if not can receive at work training. Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care.
- Manage patient flow in the office, including scheduling appointments and confirming patient visits.
- Experience with dental software systems such as Open Dental / Eagle Soft/ Dentrix/ Other for patient management and record keeping.
- Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure seamless patient interactions.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with Dental software, Medical and Dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and endodontics is advantageous.
- EFDA- Expanded Function Dental Assistants are also required.
- Proficiency in using dental imaging technology for diagnostic purposes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records and managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients and team members, fostering a positive environment.
