What are the responsibilities and job description for the TEMP Depot Repair Technician position at Rapiscan?
Overview :
Rapiscan Systems, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products range from handheld metal detectors to Real Time Tomography used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for people, weapons, explosives, drugs, money, and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as, airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities.
Working independently with very limited supervision, the individual performs depot functions by upgrading, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, servicing and refurbishing Rapiscan security products. The individual is responsible for complex products with more complex problem resolutions which will ensure factory fresh equipment performance and customer satisfaction.
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Depot Repair Technician to be part of our fast paced and quality focused team. The candidate for this position will need to be based out of the Rapiscan repair depot in Andover, MA.
Responsibilities :
- Perform hands-on and liaison role between the engineering teams, production teams, quality teams and the service organization
- Provides support for customer and company equipment by upgrading, troubelshooting, repairing, maintaining, servicing and refurbishing non-intrusive inspection security systems using built-in diagnostics and external test equipment.
- Performs and documents all test and maintenance activities.
- Aids with continual product improvement by providing innovational concepts, solutions and processes.
- Diagnosis, repairs or replaces defective units / components as appropriate.
- Sets up and utilizes specifalized test and diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctions.
- Conducts equipment / system acceptance testing following established procedures.
- Prepares and documents the details of the fix to the problem at the completion of each repair. Adds repair information via Resco, CRM and or D365 , as well as an internally designed database.

- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
