What are the responsibilities and job description for the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) position at Rappahannock Comprehensive Community Services?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Crisis Stabilization or Mental Health Skill Building
- Work within clients’ homes to assist themselves or their family with defining the goals in the least restrictive environment to foster personal growth.
- Develop relationships with family members, become invested in their clients' future and become an advocate for their client
- Work with the client's community service providers, teachers, principals, lawyers, probation officers and psychiatrists
- Provide crisis intervention services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Track all individualized service plans and paperwork
- Manage paperwork and meeting deadlines
- Attend staff meetings and communicating with supervisors
- Discuss updates, progress and concerns with supervisors on a weekly basis
- Coordinate with community service providers
- Work Location: In the community (travel within local area required)
Qualifications
- QMHP Certification
- Proficiency in behavioral therapy, patient care, and medical documentation
- Experience in mental health counseling and crisis intervention
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
- Premium skills in psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy
- Ability to work with diverse populations, including children and individuals with developmental disabilities
